The Somaras family operates the hotel Erato with a lot of success since 1981 offering his guests a comfortable stay in a familiary atmosphere.
The operation of the hotel has been successful up to now despite the fact that today’s tourism is facing difficulties; of course this is possible thanks also to the hotel friends (repeaters), who has been visiting our hotel for many years and feel as members of our family.

Adam Somaras,, after his long experience in tourism as a representative of many important tour operators since 1970, decided at the beginning of the eighties to build a small pansion with 7 rooms on bed and breakfast basis. He started with little money and great effort hoping to offer his family a future occupation.
As the tourism in Greece and Crete was constantly increasing, he decided to expand his pansion and transform it in a hotel with various departments, so he created a good product in a good reasonable selling price. All these years, he has been offering the pansion – hotel guests his love and devotion, as the original Cretan hospitality demands.

His effort was supported from the beginning by his wife Koula, who has been offering many hours of personal work all these years.

Later, the family effort started to be supported by the older son, Alexandros, who used to help during his studies and it soon became obvious that he was really interested in tourism business.
Today, he still helps along with his main occupation as a managing director in big hotels by consulting the family and personnel with his valuable knowledge and experience and by contributing to the improvement of the hotel operation.

The second son, Evangelos, followed the steps of his father and his elder brother. He has been helping since he was still very young and you can say that today he is the soul of the hotel. He studied in a touristic faculty and he decided to stay at the hotel next to his father managing the hotel with the support of his father.

Finally Nikos, the third son and much younger than his brothers, will be the future of the hotel operation, because he has also studied in a touristic faculty.

The family alone would not be effective without the appropriate and confident employees, as the hotel business is a difficult and demanding product.

We have to mention especially Maria, who has been working in the family business for many years and has seriously contributed to the family success.
